Greetings from the President

Greetings!

I am honored and humbled to serve as the 2019-2020 President of the Upsilon Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Our membership consists of college-educated women who, in addition to their already busy personal and professional schedules, have pledged to selflessly serve the Harrison County community under international programs designed to improve the lives of all mankind.

The Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service international program also referred to as “Excellence” focuses on enriching the lives of community through various activities supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities, women’s health, economic empowerment, arts education, and global impact programs.

Our current regional and international administration are under the direction of proud Mississippi natives, Regional Director Mitzi Dease Paige and International President Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover. UCO is a proud member of the Sophisticated South Eastern Region which includes Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.

I began my journey as an Alpha Kappa woman in 2002 on the campus of Alcorn State University as an undergraduate member of the Gamma Phi chapter. As a graduate member, I have held various leadership positions and am looking forward to learning with and leading our award-winning chapter to higher heights. It is our hope that we can continue to encourage and enlighten individuals in our community through collaborative efforts of supreme service to all mankind!

.

Yours in Service,

Tomesha Davis

Upsilon Chi Omega President
